His desi cries led to the debut album Desi Vibes and the infamous floor-filler Nachde Punjabi.

His own interpretation of desi [meaning traditional in Punjabi] Bhangra came was delivered to the masses in the mid 90s from his base in Leicester, UK. Kebi and his band released their debut album Open Your Mind in 1995 with music from two of Bhangra biggest names of the time K S Bhamrah and G Mall.

The album received some steady airplay and a positive response all round with the song Shan Bhangra stealing much of the limelight. Shan Bhangra told the heart-rending story reminiscing the homeland of Punjab, India that the legions of Indian's had left behind. In August 1995, Kebi 's name was selected as a nominee at the prestigious annual Asian Song & Dance Awards. Up against ten other nominees the band, which was barely six months old, was swept forward by the fervour and were crowned Best New Band 1995.

The second album, Desi Vibes was released in 1996 with Kebi himself scripting the lyrics and melodies. Sukshinder Shinda, one of the UK's top Bhangra hit-makers was enlisted through the recording deal set-up via Kiss Records to produce the album.

Nachde Punjabi from Desi Vibes has become the shining star on the eight-track album, and the primary cause of its prolific rotation on radio which has helped it become an anthem for Punjabi's everywhere. The album also includes the toe-tapping Q Ve Raate Aayae Na and Yaari Alrahan Di, the up-tempo Kuriye Majajane and the romantic Sanu Sadde Sajna Da - heart-wrenching tear-jerker. The album's overall presence is one that leans heavily on Kebi's hard edge vocals, the traditional beats and sounds of the producer and the ocean deep lyrics of the songs. The album cemented Kebi's dramatic rise in Bhangra when he was presented with another award in 1996 - Best Newcomer - one more prestigious accolade for the band and their music.

1998 saw Kebi further his musical stature when he was approached by Producer/Remixer/Rapper, Panjabi MC, to guest on his EP single Mirza Part Two. Kebi's vocals introduce the classic story of forbidden love set in the bygone era of Punjabi folklore. The EP has gone on to become the UK's fastest selling single of the last decade. The duo have also united to guest at New York's Sound of Brazil (SOB's) club night Basement Bhangra in June 1998 - an exclusive DJ/vocalist/rapper combination. With his past success and accolades bearing fruits, Kebi is soon to unleash his third album to an awaiting and expanding fan base. Following on from another New York session at 'Basement Bhangra' in November 1999, Kebi teamed up nu skool groove merchant Ravi Bal. The new, as yet untitled album, is being produced in the UK and is expected to seal the arrival of Kebi to the world stage.
